The YG 4Hundred Waze Foundation is a 501©3 non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the lives of disadvantaged youth who are a part of the foster care/group home system and homeless youth by providing growth and development in the areas of science, technology, education, and math (STEM).
Our focus is on two distinct populations:
Foster Youth
We are committed to creating opportunities for young people who have been traumatized due to horrific incidents of abuse & violence at the hands of their biological parents and/or family members.
Unfortunately, the foster care system is an imperfect system lacking in the nurturing, normalcy, and family bonding all young people need to develop self-esteem, grow, and mature into adulthood. While we wish we could provide loving, forever homes and families for every child in the foster care system, we know that it is a wonderful but impossible wish.
Therefore, the YG 4HundredWaze Foundation wants to support children in the foster care system by giving them the opportunity to create memories and experiences that will live with them forever. We want them to know that we support them and are vested in them succeeding in life despite the events, through no fault of their own, that put them in foster care.
With over 56,000 children in foster care in Los Angeles County, our goals are lofty. However, we know that when one person shows they care, you can make a difference in the life of a child, allowing them to reach for the stars and turn their dreams into reality.
